When it comes to sustainability, we focus on long-term goals and regularly review our milestones. Vision 2040 guides our commitment to sustainability. In order to achieve Vision 2040, we divide the path into five-year stages and set ourselves ambitious yet realistic and feasible goals. What does sustainability mean for Migros Industrie?
For Migros Industrie, sustainability means that ecological, social and economic aspects are taken into account in everyday business. Migros Industrie views this in line with the classic three-dimensional model. However, it recognises that different aspects of sustainability do not always address all three dimensions to the same extent and emphasise the three dimensions differently.

Principles of sustainability for Migros Industrie
Striving for sustainability is part of Migros’ DNA. Sustainability along the entire value-added chain – from cultivation to consumption – makes Migros Industrie unique.

- We work together every day to generate added value for our customers. We want to achieve the very best in the long term instead of striving for short-term profit.
- We strive to continuously improve our efforts in the area of sustainability. We set ourselves ambitious, longer-term goals and realise them step by step and consistently.
- We allow ourselves to be judged by our aims, and communicate results transparently to internal and external stakeholders.
- We promote fair and collaborative partnerships with our suppliers and producers. As a company with global supply chains, we contribute to sustainable development.
- We follow a systematic sustainability management system in compliance with ISO 14001.
- We rely on renewable energy and sustainably generated raw materials and use these resources efficiently.
- All employees can make a contribution within their work environments and are encouraged to do so – to support the effectiveness of our management system.
- We comply with the legal environmental requirements and fulfil our environmental commitments to our stakeholders.
- The sustainability policy is binding for all companies from Migros Industrie.
